Civil Twilight唱功非常扎实，他们的曲调总是充满深深的忧伤，在最激昂处爆发出最痛的呐喊。听他们的歌你可能会很难联想到他们是来自南非的乐队。从06年起他们在美国已经活动三年，90年代在南非开普顿这个迷人的城市，这里是前英国殖民地，位于非洲最南部，这是非洲文化和欧洲文化的大熔炉。就是在这里，Andrew和Steven Mckella两兄弟，初遇了他们的高中同学Richard Wounders，他们热爱英伦和美国摇滚。他们三个人在这种音乐氛围中长大。Andrew和Steven Mckella的母亲是位才华横溢的古典钢琴家，Richard的父母也很擅长吉他和钢琴，他们年轻时曾一起旅行唱民谣。

Civil Twilight成立于1997年，乐队名字起源于一部92年的电影《The Lover》，象征着永远团结。他们第一张专辑《Fallow》获得了1997年度G7最受欢迎奖，尤其是被加拿大评委看好。2003年乐队转到了Epitaph Records旗下，这种融合了punk,rock,folk,country以及sonnets(唱诗)等味道的新专辑亦好评如潮，歌曲点播率之高让加拿大广播电台爆棚。[/color]
